Crestlawn Memorial Park Cemetery was established in 1955 by Mr. McCain out of New Orleans, Louisiana. The cemetery consists of 40 acres and is considered to be the Cemetery of Choice for the future in West Jackson County.
The cemetery is presently managed by Mr. Steve Hilton. The Management and Staff of the cemetery consider it a privilege to be of service to the families that select Crestlawn and have a dedicated compassion for helping others.
Memorial Candlelight Ceremony
Established in 2002, the management and staff work very diligently to put on our Memorial Candlelight ceremony. This is where the staff fills small white bags with sand and place one on each and every grave where a burial has taken place. At dusk a brief Ceremony is conducted by a local clergy person and then those attending help light the candles in the bags on every grave. When the sun has fully receded, the display of lights and the sense of Peaceful Tribute is absolutely breathtaking. The event has grown each and every year and has been tremendously supported by the property owners. This service is generally scheduled prior to Christmas.
