Albert "Al" L. Jacquet, Jr.

Albert L. “Al” Jacquet, Jr., age 81, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 with his family by his side. Al was a lifelong resident of Biloxi, retired City Manager of D’Iberville and former owner of The Bicycle Shop. He loved Mardi Gras and was an Associate Captain as well on the Board of Directors of MGCCA for several years. He was king of both Young Matrons and Biloxi Elks and was a lifetime member of Les Perroux, Biloxi Elks 606 and Biloxi Jaycees. Al loved to play golf and was known as “Mr. Fix It”. He and his duct tape could fix anything. Special thanks to Tommy Gollott and Sue Negrotto for their many visits and support. A very special thanks to his caregiver, Jo Ann Miller, as well as the employees of Notre Dame Hospice for their kind, loving and compassionate care. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jacquet, Sr.; his wife, Janie Jacquet; his sisters, Shirley Ouille and Kathryn Jacquet; and his son-in-law, Lester Thompson, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Marie Atwood Jacquet; his daughter, Kathy Thompson; his son, Albert (Michelle) Jacquet, III; his step-children, Rick (Cindy) Atwood and Candace Atwood; his beloved sister, Patricia “Pat” Jacquet; his nieces, Georgia Bryant and Susan Holden; and his nephew, Johnnie Ouille. He was blessed with his grandchildren, Jesse (Francis), Joseph and Jason Jacquet; his step-grandchildren, Richard, Christina, Lee and Grant Atwood, Dirk (Christine), Lester and Scott Thompson and Josh Vice; his great-granddaughter, Samantha Jacquet; seven step great-grandchildren; and four step great-great-grandchildren (with twin girls due in January 2015). In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Exceptional Children’s Christmas Party, c/o Biloxi Elks #606, 1178 Beach Blvd. Biloxi, MS 39530. Funeral services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Honorary pall bearers are Tommy Gollott, Lloyd Moon, Phil Dellenger and Larry Cameron.
