Alton J. Krohn, Sr., age 89, passed away at his home in the Latimer Community after a long battle with Alzheimers, on Friday, April 20, 2012.
Mr. Krohn was born in Biloxi, MS. and was a lifetime resident of Biloxi and the Latimer Community. He was an Army veteran of WWII and served in all of the European campaigns of that war. He retired from the Mississippi Power Company after thirty-five years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Krohn and Camellia Balius Krohn Cruthirds; his wife and the mother of his children, Louise Reeves Krohn; his siblings, Vernon (Katherine) Krohn and Melvin Krohn; and a brother-in-law, Philip H. Graves.
Survivors include his wife, Irene C. (O'Neal) Krohn; a sister, Mildred Graves; a sister-in-law, Justine Krohn; five sons, Joseph (Patricia) Krohn, Daniel Krohn, Kenneth Krohn, Stephen (Dorinda) Krohn, and Alton (Joy) Krohn, Jr; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ernst and Shirley Ladner.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 23, 2012, from 9:30 am until 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wilkerson Cemetery in the Larue Community.
