Andrew Jon Braud

Andrew Jon Braud, 44, passed away peacefully Monday, September 24, 2012. Jon was born on July 26, 1968 and was a native of Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated from Broadmoor High School in 1986 and received his bachelor’s degree from Nichols State University in Thibodaux, LA where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Jon went on to have an 18 year career in the casino industry and retired as Table Games Assistant Shift Manager. He is preceded in death by his father, Adam Joseph Braud (1979) and his brother, Alan Jay Braud (1983). Jon is survived by his wife, Cindi Core Braud and two Maltese children, Daisy and Saydi Braud; mother, Sue McMurphy Braud of Baton Rouge; sister, Donna Braud Hall of Houston, TX; mother and father-in-law, Larry and Diana Core of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Core and Jeffrey Hall and one nephew, Jay Bradley Hall. Other survivors include aunts and uncles, Jacqueline Braud Schriber, A.J. and Judi McMurphy, Jerry and Carolyn McMurphy McGill; cousins, Tonni McCollister, Terri Simpson, Traci May, Trudi Schriber, Bo McMurphy, Jimmy McMurphy, David McMurphy, Jayne Doneskey, Sonni Bass, Glen Tommy Braud, Arthur Braud and Michelle Braud Thompson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone that has supported Jon in his fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Jon was a true warrior and helped create awareness for the disease both early and late onset. A visitation will be on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. On Friday, September 28, 2012 there will be a visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, LA. Interment will follow the visitation. A Celebration of Life will be at the reception center at Greenoaks from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Jon Braud’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mississippi Chapter, 196 Charmant Drive, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
