Ann Vowell, age 75, left this life on Earth to live in the “Everlasting Arms of God”, May 17, 2013. She was a devout Christian, and dedicated her life to living, breathing and sharing the Word of God. She was the matriarch of her family, and a beautiful example of what a wife, mother, grandmother and friend should be.
Ms Vowell was born on Sunflower Plantation, Tutweiller, MS, July 26, 1937. She grew up in North Mississippi and moved to Biloxi in 1960 with her new husband, Wayne Vowell. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Biloxi, for 53 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Wayne Vowell, her parents Edward and Ituria Whitworth, and her sister Winalene Malone.
Ann is survived by her sister, Rene’ Key (Fred) of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Katrina Trost (Allen) of D’Iberville, Kim Vowell (fiance’ Eddie) of Biloxi, and Kara Vesa (Alex) also of Biloxi; three grandsons, Hunter Vesa, Anthony Vesa and Austin Martino, all of Biloxi.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast, Popps Ferry Rd., Biloxi, with the service immediately following. Burial will be at Southern Memorial Park, Hwy 90, Biloxi.
The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
