Anna Josephine Wentzell, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Anna was born in Mobile, AL and moved to the MS Gulf Coast where she married the love of her life Frank Wentzell. She was an active member of Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral where she served on the bereavement committee. She spent many days at Nativity BVM School where she served 7 years as homeroom mother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Wentzell; her parents, Ann and John Rudolf, Sr; siblings, Jimmy (Mildred) Hughes and Rosemary (Gary) Gollott; nephews, Johnny Hughes and John Rudolf, III; and her brother-in-law, Larry VanLandingham.
She left behind her only child, Susan Wentzell and her husband, Richard “Ski” Zukowski; grandchildren, Ryan Zukowski, Melissa Wentzell (Michael) LoPorto and Scott (Holli) Zukowski; the love of her life, her great-grandchildren Gianna Suzanne Wentzell LoPorto, Gryason Frank Wentzell LoPorto and Savannah Grace Zukowski; siblings, Mary Margaret (Henry) Lawrence, Mary Ann VanLandingham and John (Gay) Rudolf, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly.
Visitation will be held at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10-12pm with Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside at the Sacred Heart Center. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe is in charge.
