Anne Marie Hoke passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017. Anne was born on October 4, 1942 in Gulfport. She was educated in Gulfport public school and finished high school at Gulf Park College and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. Anne taught middle school in Mississippi and Arkansas for 23 years. She loved reading, cooking, traveling and playing bridge. Anne was a member of various bridge clubs, the Gulfport Yacht Club, Culture Club of Gulfport and in her younger life she was in Little Theater work and summer theater.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents Sam Stratton and Marie Nelson Hoke and grandparents Dr. Harry E. and Lucille Hoke and Marie Brehm, and niece Leslie Lindsay Tassone. She is survived by her sister Lynn Hoke Baker (Dave); a niece Vanessa Lindsay Clarke; two nephews Anson L. Lindsay, Jr. (Jala) and Richard H.S. Teeple; cousins, Oney C. Raines (Linda), David Raines (Rosemary), and Carol Patton (Michael), and also by many friends who were like family and bridge partners.
In lieu of flowers Anne requested donations to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501 in memory of her best furry friend Boo Boo.
