Anne Reilly Morse of Gulfport passed away on August 6, 2014. Born to Joseph F. Reilly, Jr. and Bertie D. Reilly on August 27, 1927, she was a native of Gulfport. She was an avid lifelong sailor and genealogist. She attended Sophie Newcomb College and transferred to University of Mississippi to earn her BA in mathematics.
In 1951, she married Stanford Morse, Jr., with whom she had four children. She was a member of St. Peter’s by the Sea and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of many social and civic clubs including the Four Seasons Garden Club, the Gulfport Yacht Club Ladies’ Auxiliary, and the Revelers Club. She was a charter member of the Harrison County Republican Party.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Stanford Morse, Jr, her son George and her daughter Millie. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Collmus of Norfolk, Va., and brother, Michael Reilly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., her sons Stanford III and Reilly, granddaughters, Michelle Brister, Meredith Billings, Meghan Edwards, and Alexandra Morse, and four great grandchildren.
The memorial service will be at 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church where friends may visit one hour before the service.
