Anthony Charles Caldarera, was known as A.C. or Mouse to his peers and Papi to his immediate family and close friends. At 73 years old, Anthony peacefully departed this life on Earth and went on to meet the Good Lord this past Sunday, May 21, 2017.
Anthony was born in New Orleans, LA on December 25, 1943. He was a Christmas baby. He was the son of Tony and Rita Caldarera. He was raised in the area of Kenner, LA and later moved to Avondale, LA, where he would work exclusively for Avondale Shipyard as a welder and a ship fitter for almost 38 years. During his working years, he was an active member of the Kenner volunteer fire department. In 1964, Anthony married Reynell Ann Millet and they settled in Avondale, LA where her parents resided. There they raised their two daughters. He absolutely loved the outdoors and deer hunting. The most abundant love in Anthony’s heart was the love he had for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
Anthony is preceded in death by his loving wife, Reynell; parents, Tony and Rita Caldarera; and brother, Victor Caldarera.
Survivors include his daughters, Julie Ann Caldarera and Leslie Marie Caldarera Ruffin; grandchildren, Laurie, Nikki, Scott, Stephanie and Forest “TJ”; many beautiful great-grandchildren that he loved; and three siblings, Vic, Bobby, and Ronnie. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with an 11:00 a.m. service, all at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow immediately after at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, MS.
