MSgt Anthony J. Gagliano, Sr., USAF, Ret., age 80, took the hand of the Lord in the evening hours of June 3, 2014 with his family by his side.
A native of New Orleans, LA, he lived on the gulf coast for 54 years. He served in the US Air Force as a fighter crew chief and as a radar technician/instructor for 20 years retiring as a MSgt in 1972. He then went to work at Ingalls and for the Navy as a civilian until he retired in 1996. He was a member of the Lions Club, the OSHS band auxillary, the Magnolia Swingers Square Dance Club, a charter member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, and was the founder and president of the 401st TFW Reunion Association.
He is preceded in death by his son, Anthony J. Gagliano, Jr. and parents, Joseph and Josephine Gagliano.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley M. Gagliano, daughter, Sandra E. Gagliano Barnes and her husband Richard Barnes, son, John G. Gagliano all of Ocean Springs, MS., six grandchildren, Mandy, Brad, Laci, Alex, Jamie, and Lindsey, and two great-grandsons, Cam and Cooper, sisters Lucille Welsh and her husband Harry Welsh of Slidell, LA and Mary Morgan of Gilbert AZ, brother Blaise Gagliano of Bogalusa, LA, and nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:30 am at Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Ocean Springs where friends may call one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
