Graveside service for Audrey Mae Yates Easterling, 85, of Gulfport, MS, will be on Saturday June 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at McNair Cemetery in Mt Olive, MS. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Billy King Colonial Chapel in Collins, MS.
Born in Bristol, VA, she was a daughter of the late Oma Baumgardner Yates and William Andrew Yates.
While living in Virginia, Audrey practiced as a nurse in the Abingdon Hospital. She joined the United States Air Force as a registered nurse and retired as a First Lieutenant. After retirement, she spent some time in California and Florida, finally settling in Gulfport. Besides loving and nurturing her family and friends, she had a passion for golfing and gardening.
Surviving is her husband of 24 years, Russel Easterling, and grandson, Keith Stumbaugh.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary O’Brien; Mollie Yates Arden, and three brothers; Andrew, Sandy, and Thomas Yates.
