Augustine Natalie Corso Harrison

Augustine Nathalie Corso Harrison went to meet the Lord Sunday, April 26, 2015, just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday. She passed peacefully during the night at her home of the past four years in Stafford, VA. Augustine was born June 3, 1915, in Biloxi, MS. She married Richard B. Harrison and had two daughters. She was a spirited lady who spent most of her life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was an avid gardener and turned heads with her lavish floral displays. "Tina" had a particular talent for crochet and made many beautiful items. She never learned to drive, but that didn't slow her down as she could often be seen walking to various destinations. She loved to "go to town", shop, dance, cook, and listen to Frank Sinatra. She was a fantastic storyteller and she will be greatly missed for her energy, passion and sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nellie Corso of Biloxi, her sister Maxine Covacevich, and her brother Jimmy Corso. She is survived by her sister Rita Jackson of Ocean Springs; her daughters Joan Starks (Leonard Starks) and Myra Powell (Wally Powell), and six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. Her family wishes to extend thanks to the caring professionals who helped her so much: hospice nurse Patrice Edmonds, social worker Jennifer Moore, and doctors Robert Vranian, M.D., FACC and Yolanda Reid, M.D. Also, we wish to express our deepest thanks to Vettie Ellis who was a dear friend to Tina in her last years. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Nativity BVM Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
