Barbara J. Murrell

Ms. Barbara J. Murrell beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, 73 of Biloxi died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Ocean Springs, MS. Ms. Murrell was born and raised in Biloxi. She was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church and worked for a number of years as the bookkeeper and secretary for Sacred Heart High School. Ms. Murrell was preceded in death by her father, Oscar J. Murrell; her mother, Helen Galy Murrell; brother-in-law, James I. Thornton; and sister, Dianna Louise Thornton. Survivors include a nephew, Darren J. Thornton; two nieces, Tammarra L. Thornton-Parker and Kimberly D. Audo (Michael); great nephews, Kyle Parker and Andrew Parker, Adam Thornton and Aaron Thornton, and Michael Audo; great nieces, Abbie Thornton, Miya Audo and Madison Audo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Nativity BVM Cathedral where friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue is in charge of arrangements.
