Bertha L. Sadowski

Bertha L. Sadowski, 88, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Ocean Springs. Bertha was employed as a telephone operator for Southern Bell in the 60’s. She went to Wilton Cake Decorating School in Chicago to fulfill her dream of being a cake decorator. Upon her return to the coast, Bertha opened her own bakery, Specialty Cakes. She taught cake decorating and candy making classes at Biloxi High School. Bertha published a cook book and a candy booklet. She also held a cake decorating contest at Edgewater Mall. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Sadowski; her parents, George and Odette Landry; her brother, Carroll Landry; and her sister, Vivian Foster. Bertha’s survivors include her son, Wayne Sadowski; her grandson, Jathan Sadowski; and her sister, Mary Joyce Skinner. Funeral Services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 215 at 10:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
