Billy Lee "Pete" Peters

Mr. Billy Lee "Pete" Peters of Ocean Springs, MS passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 25, 1930, in Oxford, AL to George Peters and Blonnie Caldren, Billy was married to the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Eugenia Ruth Hutchisson. At various times a resident of Mobile, AL, Lafayette, LA and Greenwood, MS, Billy had resided in Ocean Springs for the past 30 years. He worked for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) for 35 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Billy was known to love a good Rebel yell, Alabama football and to readily lend a hand and a smile. He and his family loved their annual summer vacations in Gulf Shores, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, Agnes Jones and a brother, George Peters. Survivors include his three children, Melanie Peters, Michael (Carmen) Peters and Mitchell (Katie) Peters, six grandchildren, Gloria Peters Gassiott, Gregory Peters, Laura Peters, Carley Pfrimmer, Evan Peters and Olivia Peters. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren, loving nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and many friends. A kind man, loving father and husband, caring friend and neighbor, Billy will be dearly missed by all those who knew and cherished him. May he rest in peace. Visitation will be on Monday, November 24, from 10am ~ 11am, with an 11am Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
