Mrs. Bonnie Jo Knotts Hendricks, age 82, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Bonnie was born in Wellington, TX, the daughter of R.A. and Pauline Knotts. She spent her childhood years in Amarillo, TX and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954. After high school, Bonnie began her thirty year career with Bell Telephone Company in Ft. Worth, TX. She soon met the love of her life, Barkley Hendricks, who was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base. They were wed on March 6, 1956 and later began their family together in Suffolk, England. As a military family, they traveled the world together and eventually settled in Pensacola, FL in 1974. In 2001, they moved to the Gulf Coast to be close to their family and grandchildren who they loved dearly. Bonnie was loved by so many. Her family and friends were the light of her life. She was the most joyful, loving and selfless person to everyone that knew her. Bonnie loved going to church, music, fishing, traveling and spending every moment she could with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, R.A. Knotts, mother, Pauline Knotts and her husband, Barkley Hendricks.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen Hendricks (Debora) and Jeffrey Hendricks (Dana), four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her longtime friends, Chuck and Jan Nicholson and their daughters.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 17, from 12 noon until 1pm, with a 1 pm Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
