Brian Keith Atkinson

Brian Keith Atkinson, age 32, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. He was born November 12, 1980 in Gulfport, MS. Brian was a devoted hus¬band, loving father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Julius “Pete” and Ruby Atkinson of Leachville, AR, maternal grandparents, Leo and Marguerite Renaud of Biloxi. Survivors include his wife of 12 years Tammy Russ Atkinson; his children, Shannon Jase, Briona Rochelle, and Kaleb Lee; parents Jerry and Laura Atkinson of Biloxi; a sister, Cheryl (Tony) Bosarge of Ocean Springs; brothers Jerry (Kerry) Atkinson of Ocean Springs, Dwayne (Donna) Atkinson of Biloxi, and Jonathan (Holli) Atkinson of Lake City, AR.; in-laws Wayne and Lisa Russ, of Vancleave; brother in law Wayne (Shelly) Russ of Ocean Springs, Denise Russ of Vancleave; Christy (Jimmy) Shows of Magee; Tonya Brentz of Ocean Springs; and nineteen nieces and nephews. Brian has many friends that love him and will miss him dearly. Brian was a graduate of St Martin High School in 1999. He was currently employed by Lane Construction Co., where he was a foreman for 11 years. He was a member of Mosaic Church, where he enjoyed volunteering as a community group and youth leader. Brian loved his family, cooking and also enjoyed the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, a family account, “Brian Atkinson Memorial Fund”, has been set up at Keesler Federal Credit Union to help the family with expenses. Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service is Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mosaic Church, 15521 Oak Lane, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
