C. William "Bill" Spigener, Jr.

Mr. C. William (Bill) Spigener, Jr., 69, of Ocean Springs, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015. He was the son of the late Lucille (Cile) and Chester W. Spigener, Sr. Bill was born June 10, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee. Growing up, he lived in Sikeston, Missouri; Louisville, Kentucky; and Atlanta, Georgia before moving with his family to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1963. He attended Gulf Coast Military Academy, where he was Company Commander, and graduated from Gulfport High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a rifle and pistol expert. Later, he received a Commendation Citation from the Navy Department for his volunteer service to the Gulf Coast during Hurricane Camille. Following his tour of duty, Bill attended Mississippi State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Finance (double major) and a minor in Architecture. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He also graduated Rensseleaer Polytechnic Institute in Science and Physics of Nuclear Medicine and continued his education with Sales Mastery I and II, Strategic Negotiations I and II, and Situational Sales Negotiations. Bill was an accomplished sales executive, a strategic innovator and a respected leader. He moved to California, where he provided market analysis for new imaging procedures through his Spigener Development Group, LLC, implemented a Brain Fitness Program for Posit Science Corporation, was territory manager for Philips Medical Systems, co-founded and managed Specialty Imaging Centers, LLC, as well as co-founding the Mobile MRI Diagnostic Imaging Company and successfully negotiated the first pro football league Mobile MRI services in the United States. Bill retired and moved back to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2010. He was an active member of the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, serving as chairman of the House Committee and as a Board Member. He served on the Ocean Springs Zoning and Adjustment Commission, was a member of the Les Pierrots Mardi Gras Carnival Krewe, the MSU Alumni Association, the Order of the First Families of Mississippi, the Presbyterian Church, and was a volunteer for the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce. He was a former Rotarian. He was a Licensed Realtor, a member of the Mississippi and Gulf Coast Associations of Realtors, and an agent with Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty, LLC. He was an avid diver and boatsman. Bill loved life and lived life to its fullest. He will be sorely missed by both family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Justin Wilson Spigener, Sr. of Tampa, Florida; a grandson, Justin Wilson (J.J.) Spigener, Jr., also of Tampa; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and William J. (Bill) Demoran of Ocean Springs; a nephew and niece, Philip Edward and Tina Demoran, also of Ocean Springs; a great-nephew and great-niece, Nicholas Edward and Cheri Demoran of Tupelo, Mississippi; his precious little dog, Skippy; and long time and great friends Dr. Damon Sacco of Sausalito, California; and Jim and Karen Duncan and Robert Morrison of Atlanta, Georgia. Visitation was Monday, March 2, 2015 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. The funeral service was Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. Interment will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at two o’clock in the afternoon in Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, Mississippi. There will be a Marine Corps Honor Guard and Ceremony at graveside. The Ocean Springs Chapel at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
