Capt. Richard H. Holem, USAF Ret., 80, of Ocean Springs, MS died Monday, September 15, 2014 in Ocean Springs. Mr. Holem was a native of East Chicago, IN and a proud resident of Ocean Springs since 1972. He served three years in the US Navy and was retired after seventeen years of service in the USAF, being stationed in Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Holem was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. He loved his family, his dogs, his friends and his city. His survivors include his wife of sixty years, Mary Palmer Holem; his daughters, Kim Sturgill (Mike) and Kelcey Gollott (Richie); his sister, Lois Elish (George); his grandchildren, Jennifer Townsend (Bradley), Patrick Sturgill, Jacob Gollott and Grant Gollott; and his great-grandson, Noah Townsend. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 10:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am until service time. A reception will follow after the service in the parish hall. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
