Cassandra Lowe Timmons, 52, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home in Pass Christian, MS. She was born in Greenville, MS on June 30, 1965 to Amelie Worthington and Patrick William Parkinson. Cassandra graduated from St. Joseph High School in Greenville and attended St. Maryʼs Dominican College in New Orleans, LA. Following her passion for cooking and entertaining that she acquired in her parents’ kitchen, she began working in the restaurant business. She quickly advanced and was the chef at Motor Supply Company Bistro in Columbia, SC for thirteen years. Returning to Mississippi in 2003, she opened her own restaurant, the Old Cuevas Bistro, in partnership with her father. The restaurant was housed in the historic Cuevas store located on Menge Ave. in Pass Christian and was renowned as one of the finest restaurants on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Cassandra was well known for her extraordinary generosity and her enormous heart. In spite of many tragic losses, she persevered with a joyous outlook that she shared with those around her. A loving friend to all who knew her, she always gave more than she received. She will be sorely missed by her daughters, her family and her many friends. Cassandra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Timmons; and her brother, Patrick Worthington Parkinson. She is survived by her greatest achievements, her daughters, Amelia Mason “Masie” Timmons of Biloxi and Sophia Deslonde Timmons of Pass Christian. Additionally, Cassandra is survived by her brother, William Halsey Parkinson and wife Ashley of Dallas ,TX; her sister, Mary Deslonde Parkinson and wife Charlotte Briggs of East Hampton MA; and her sister, Catherine Parkinson Peters of Bay St. Louis. She also leaves behind her partner of many years, Joseph Schuman. Funeral services will be held at Bradford OʼKeefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The service is at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Martin Gilliland officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations for Amelia and Sophia through the Timmons Family Benefit Account at the Hancock-Whitney Bank. A reception will follow at Hook Restaurant, 133 Davis Avenue, Pass Christian from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
