Catherine Taconi Guidry Blount

Catherine Taconi Guidry Blount, 89, of Gulfport, MS passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Gulfport. Catherine loved eating fresh seafood and eating out at local seafood restaurants. She was an avid golfer and she loved to dance. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Ray Guidry; her father, AJ Taconi, Jr.; her parents, Marie Elma Guillotte Zarachowicz and Julius Zarachowicz; her sister, Betty Taconi Viator; and her grandparents, Elmiuse Guillotte and Marie Landry Guillotte. Catherine’s survivors include her husband, James O. Blount of Gulfport; her stepsons, Steven (Nancy Jane) Blount of Ocean Springs, Scott (Debbie) Blount of Gulfport and Brian (Rose) Blount of Beaumont, TX; her sister, Juliette “Chee Chee” (A.J.) Stanovich of Biloxi; three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; cousins, Richard Talanicich and Maxine Talanicich Comeaux; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. For all of Catherine’s family and friends who are not able to attend services, please have a tea party honoring her long, well lived life.
