Cecil Ray Arney, 81 years young, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away at 10:30 am on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital in Gulfport, MS.
Cecil was born February 17, 1935 in Vernon, IN to Ulysses Howard Arney and Goldia G. Myrick Arney. He was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran who served his country proudly for 22 years. Cecil was a loving husband, a devoted father and a proud grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth Arney; and his sisters, Marilyn Arney Tungeitt and Betty Arney Evans.
Cecil’s survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jeanne Arney; his children, Tammy Arney Odom, Elizabeth Arney Gammage, Marie Arney, James H. Arney and David Arney; and 6 grandchildren.
The family requests that flowers be sent to the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home or donations be made to the woundedwarriorproject.org/donate, in Cecil’s name.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:30 pm with Minister Mac Worth officiating. Friends may visit from 12:30 pm until service time. Interment with full Military Honors will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
