Master Sergeant Charles “Chuck” Davis Landberg, USAF (Retired), of Biloxi, MS passed away on November 17, 2017 at the age of 70. He was born on March 13, 1947 to Agnes and James Landberg in Louisville, MS. He is preceded in death by both parents; uncle, James Hyde; and cousin, David Spears. He is survived by his Aunt Frances (Jimmy) Spears, Aunt Emma Hyde, as well as his cousins, Pam (Mike) Broadway and Jimmy Spears. Also, survived by his devoted friends, David and Lori Hickman. Chuck lived in Gulfport, MS until 1954 when his parents were assigned in the military to France for four years. They returned to Keesler AFB, MS in 1958 and Chuck grew up in Gulfport, MS. He was a lifelong member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Gulfport. He joined the United States Air Force in 1966 and was stationed at Nellis AFB in Nevada for a year. He then was assigned to Eglin AFB in Florida, where he met his previous wife, Wilma Baggett, in 1968. They were married in January 1970 and spent 41 years together. After a short break in his career, he re-entered the USAF in 1971 and was stationed at Keesler AFB in MS, Clark AB in Philippines, George AFB in CA and Lackland AFB in TX. His career covered working in the Paint Shop, Supply, and as a Student Training Advisor at Lakeland AFB. He retired in 1988 in San Antonio, TX. After retiring, Chuck managed real estate properties he owned in Texas. In 1992, he moved back to MS to be closer to both families. During the many years that followed, Chuck worked at the Keesler AFB in the grounds keeping area, the recycle center, and the carpentry shop. His most rewarding job was running the Keesler Recycle Center for several years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gulfport Humane Society Thrift Shop in Gulfport, MS or the Alzheimer’s Association. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
