Charles Larry Bosarge, age 76, was called by his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2016. Larry was a loving husband to his wife, the late Phyllis Foreman Bosarge, and devoted father to his four children, Charles E. “Chuck” (Colleen) Bosarge, Lisa (Read) Hendon, Stacey (Clement) Landry and Kevin (Rachel) Bosarge. His eight grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Brittany, Morgan, Garret, Brooke, Baleigh and Paislee, and two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Scarlett, will dearly miss their “Paw Paw”. Larry will be remembered for his genuine kindness and his desire to take care of his family and any friends in need.
Born to Orie Everett Bosarge and the late Irma Johnson in 1939 in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, Larry was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast, where he enjoyed a long career as a captain in the seafood industry, oil and gas fields and on research vessels. He married the love of his life, Phyllis, in 1960 and started their family in 1965 with the birth of Chuck. His love for working on the water was only exceeded by his faith and love for his family. As an Ocean Springs resident, he was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
Mr. Bosarge is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his mother, Irma Johnson; his sister, Tanya
Boudreaux; his father and mother-in-law, Sidney and Lucille Foreman; his brothers-in-law, Sonny Foreman and James Foreman; and his sister-in-law, Sylvia Smith.
He is survived by his brothers, Mickey Bosarge and Glenn Johnson, whom he thought of as a son; his brothers-in-law, Richard Foreman, Kenneth Foreman and Billy Foreman; and sisters-in-law, Frannie Weems and Mary Skaar.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4900 Reilly Rd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
