Charlie Massie, 81 of Saucier died Monday, May 27, 2013 in Gulfport. He was a resident
of Saucier for the past 35 years. He was a commercial shrimper from the Gulfport Harbor where he was known by his friends as “Captain Charlie”. He attended Robinwood Baptist Church. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elick S. Massie and Lilly Ball Massie; two sisters; Barbara Perringer and Ida Tuggle; and a brother, Junior Massie.
Mr. Massie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Louise Massie of Saucier; two daughters, Benita Webb of Johnson City, TN and Deanna Holmes of Columbia, SC; a son, Allen Massie of Gulfport; two brothers, Henry Massie of Swords Creek, VA and Robert Massie of North Carolina; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Rouse Cemetery in Saucier
