Charlotte Nieves was born March 6, 1942 in Biloxi, MS to Ben Dickson and Agnes
Bennett Dickson. She passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Biloxi. Charlotte was
cemented in family values passed down to her by generations of Biloxians. She
loved being a mother and grandmother and placed a high value on making sure
her kids always felt loved and taken care of. Charlotte loved Biloxi and would always
brag about it when speaking to those from out of town; especially while she lived in
New York for several years in the late 60’s. While living in New York, she worked at
CBS in Manhattan, until her son was born. She wanted to make sure her children were
raised as she was, so she had the family relocated back to Biloxi and never looked back.
Charlotte loved her time at Biloxi High School, attended and/or helped coordinate
reunions; most recently her 50th. She had many lifelong friends that were her
classmates. She made friends very easily, and loved to tell stories. Everyone that knew
her knew she had a ‘talent’ for talking. She was also a talented artist.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Nieves of Biloxi; son, Randall Nieves
(Danielle) of Granada Hills, CA; sister, Betty Rose (Ronald) of Biloxi; and two grandchildren,
Sara and Christian.
Services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 2:30pm at Blessed Seelos Catholic Church. Friends may visit one hour prior to service.
