Christopher "Heath" McCrory

Christopher “Heath” McCrory, 32, of Ocean Springs, MS, departed this life on March 20, 2015, in Williamsport, PA. He was with the love of his life, Raquel Terry. Heath was born December 1, 1982 in Pascagoula, MS. He attended 1st through 12th grade in Ocean Springs, MS. He attended Graceland Baptist Church. Heath played baseball and basketball, but his great love was football. He enrolled at Ole Miss in the fall of 2001, loving the time he spent there. Later he transferred to USA in Mobile where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. His 2nd allegiance was to his dad’s favorite school, Florida State University. Heath went to an untold number of games at Doak Campbell Stadium. He was fortunate to be there to see them win two of their three National Championships. He loved all FSU and Ole Miss sports and watching his favorite New Orleans Saints play. He never met a beach he didn’t love, going out to the islands, fishing and just being on the water with a cold one in his hand. Heath was the life of every party! His musical tastes were widely varied; from the South Mississippi Allstars, to the Foofighters, to the Rolling Stones to Kenny Chesney to the Rat Pack and Jimmy Buffett. Heath was a ray of sunshine and energy that can never be extinguished. Heath was his mother’s only child. They had a bond that few people are lucky enough to experience. Every minute spent with him was pure joy. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Butch Noble; and his maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Rogers Goff. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Ruby “Tut” Dodson; his grandmother, Louise Quave Noble of Vancleave; his uncles and aunts, Vince Goff and Sheila Richey of Vancleave, JoAnne McCrory of Houston, TX and Sandy Martin of Tallahassee, FL; his sisters, Stacy Harnett and Christina Dodson of Tallahassee, FL, Shelley Roden of Birmingham, AL and Michelle Robinson of Ocean Springs; his brothers, Trey and Carey McCrory of Vancleave; six nieces and nephews; being closest to the oldest, Brandon Eastman of Tallahassee who he considered a baby brother; and his fur babies, Rocky, Chief and Tott. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a funeral service on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 am all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
