Cindy Taranto Hawken

Cindy Taranto Hawken, 66, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 31, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. She was born August 14, 1947, to Annette and Salvatore Taranto, in Biloxi, MS, and was a 58 year resident of Las Vegas. Cindy was a loving a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Her positive attitude, determination and courage during her 15 year battle with breast cancer will forever be an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. She was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and Stanford Cardinal. Her love for her grandchildren gave her strength to fight and live beyond conventional exception. Cindy is survived by her husband, Larry; sons, Jake (Mikki) and Anthony; grandchildren, Madison and Andrew; sisters, Ann Kavanagh of Biloxi, Charlene Riley of Redding, CA and Annette McGough of Las Vegas; brother, Eddie Taranto of Las Vegas. Services were held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The family prefers memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
