Mrs. Claudette L. Anstead, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, in Fredricksburg, VA.
Claudette was born in New Orleans, LA and was a devout communicant of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for the last 38 years. She was a kind soul with a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. She enjoyed interior design, flower arranging and giving new life to anything broken or in need of repair.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Lt. Col. Samuel A. Anstead, USAF, and her devoted granddaughter, Tara Ward Burleson in 2011.
Survivors include four daughters, Claudia A. (Doug) Andrews, Cynthia A. (Cliff) Curley, Deidra A. (Guy) Manuel and Felecia A. (Jeremy) Knapp, a son, Michael A. (Theresa) Anstead, three brothers, Errol Lorentz, Brian Lorentz and Charles Lorentz, eight grandchildren, Samantha Richards, Jay Andrews, Clara Andrews, Brooke Martin, Erin Lewis, Gage Manuel, Courtney Gutierrez and Malayna Knapp, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 4, 2013, from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
