"Coach" John Martin Venable

“Coach” John Martin Venable, born February 6, 1931 in Tangipahoa, LA, passed from this life on June 10, 2014 at his home in Gautier, MS surrounded by his family. Mr. Venable was a resident of Gautier for over 25 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and served on the USS Chourre. In his life he was a businessman, coach and teacher. He was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman, passions he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. In his life he touched the lives of many people and they are the richer for having known him. He will be missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Cox Venable. He leaves behind his sons, Michael Venable (Sharon) and Tracy Venable (Lacey); four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Private services will be held at a later date. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
