Curtis Hubert Spear

Curtis Hubert Spear, 91, of Biloxi, passed away at Biloxi Regional Medical Center on Sunday, February 10, 2013 after a brief illness. Mr. Spear was born on July 12, 1921 in Verbena, AL to Joseph and Callie Spear. His family later moved to Montgomery, AL where he lived until joining the U.S. Air Force in September 1942 and married Estelle Martin, which ended in divorce in 1945. He later married Gladys Spear in 1945. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in November 1962, they lived in Missouri, then, moved to Biloxi, making it their home for the past 29 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister; and his two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Gladys Spear; his sister, Louise Bazzell of Plano, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
