Cynthia "Cynde" Penton Ervin, age 62, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018.
She was a lifetime resident of Pass Christian and Long Beach. She was a graduate of Long Beach High School and of MGCCC School of Nursing. Her nursing career evolved over the years. She worked for the late Dr. Burman, as a school nurse at Head Start and Delisle Elementary, as a mental health nurse at SandHill, and cared for our Veterans at the VA. She was a Registered Nurse and Cpt. US Army Reserve which brought her family much pride. She loved her children, grandchildren, momma, and God more than life itself. She loved and cared for all of God's creatures, saving many cats, dogs, and wildlife in need. She was above all a loving mother and Mimi and will be missed by all that knew her.
Ms. Ervin is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Emile Penton; and beloved grandparents.
She is survived by her momma, Rose Marie Alexander; her 3 children Katie Baker (Rob), Matthew Wood (Samantha), Christa Ervin; 3 grandchildren Kylie Ervin, Kyshja Maurice, Delayshja Dedeaux; and her granddogs and grandcat.
Memorial services will be held at Bradford O'Keefe, 15th Street in Gulfport on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 6pm. Family and friends may visit one hour prior. A reception following the services will be at her beloved property she called Penton's. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to HSSM.org in her name to support Lonely Hearts.
