David "Dave" Virgil Tallent

Mr. David "Dave" Virgil Tallent, age 80, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Biloxi VA. Mr. Tallent was born on July 30, 1937 in Charlotte, NC. He was a resident of Ocean Springs, MS for over 35 years. He graduated from Quitman High School in 1956. After 28.5 years of military service, 4 Army and 24.5 Air Force he retired a Sr. Master Sargent. He received the Bronze Star for service in Vietnam. He went on to work and retire from Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula, MS after 15.5 years. Mr. Tallent is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Lee Tallent and Beulah Clayton Tallent; stepmother - Minnie Faye Tallent; seven brothers and sisters, Bobby Lee Tallent, Johnny Faye Brewer, Jimmy Tallent, Meada Binion, Deborah Pullin and Leon Tallent. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jamesetta Mae Collins Tallent of Ocean Springs, MS; one daughter, Robin Tallent Mitchell (David Mitchell) of Ocean Springs, MS; two grandchildren, Sara Nicole Wilson of Summerdale, AL and Meghan Emily Guilfoyle of Zionsville, IN; and five brothers and sisters Lee Tallent, Mary Jean Godwin, Joyce Hammond, Ann Brown and Leo Tallent. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, MS at 12pm. Friends are invited to visit from 10:30-12pm.
