David Thielker, age 83, was born in the Bronx, New York, March 21, 1933 and passed away in Ocean Springs on Monday, August 29, 2016.
He served in the US Air Force for 25 years including one year in Thailand during the Vietnam War and was an instructor for training in the military on airplanes. He was an organist, playing outside the military for many churches and other events and for the military as well and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard in Biloxi. He enjoyed his antique cars, loved tinkering with and driving them and always looked forward to the antique classic car shows, participating in Cruisin’ the Coast. David and his wife, Doris Thielker, were married for 61 years. He retired from the Oklahoma Blood Institute in Oklahoma City, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Pauline Thielker, of New York, and a sister, Elsie Kuester. He has three sons, Robert (Kim), Paul (Vicki), and Jim (Marla) Thielker; four grandsons and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2016 with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery at 10:00 am Friday, September 2. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the American Heart Association or to a local blood bank.
