Deborah “Debbie” Mattina Simon was born on August 22, 1958 and was lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS. She passed away on August 22, 2016, at the young age of 58, after a courageous battle with cancer. She had overcome many things in her life as a strong and determined woman. Debbie was preceded in death by her Father, Joseph Fayard Mattina, Mother Leora Burch Mattina, Grandfather Joseph Mattina Sr, Grandmother Sedonia Fayard Mattina, Grandmother Mitta Pearl Burch. She is survived by her two brothers, Larry and Ronnie Mattina of Biloxi, MS, two sisters Arlene Mattina Broussard and Mary Beth Mattina Ragusa of Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from Biloxi High School in the class of 1976. Debbie kept her strong faith and believed in the assurance that God was always by her side. Some of her favorite things to do were cook and try new recipes.
She was known for having a green thumb and took great pride in caring for her many plants. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends, especially by her many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. Services for Debbie will all be handled through the downtown location of Bradford-O’Keefe, at 675 Howard Ave, Biloxi, MS 39530. The visitation will be on Friday August 26, 2016 from 12-1pm with the service beginning at 1pm. Interment will immediately follow at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
