Delores Parker Sumrall, age 81, passed on to eternal rest, Friday, December 26, 2014.
Delores was a lifelong resident of the St. Martin Community. She was an extraordinary force in the lives of many. A coach, teacher, disciplinarian, Assistant Principal and Principal of St. Martin Schools. Delores later went on to become Assistant Superintendent of The Jackson County School District. She was respected and admired for her dedication to professional and civic duties, as to champion education. Delores was appointed to the MGCCC Board of Trustees representing local, state and national positions ensuring educational opportunities for all for 29 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Sumrall, Sr.; her parents, Edward and Oneidia Parker; her brother, Joel Parker; and her great-grandson, Carson Abram Sumrall.
Delores is survived by her four children, Charles E. (Liz) Sumrall, Jr., Denise S. (Jim) Marque, Reverend Todd P. (Tammy) Sumrall and Jan S. (Todd) Brosh; her sister, Judith L. Soriez; her brother, John "Bubby" Parker; eight grandchildren; three step- grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Ocean Springs Hospital Staff, Dr. Taylor, Dr. Darren, Dr. Weldon and Inpatient Sunlight Hospice.

Visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi, MS.
Pallbearers will be Charles Michael Marque, Brennan Joseph Marque, Charles Wesley Sumrall, David Grantham, William "Billy" Lee and Ronnie Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sara Sumrall, Mary Claire Sumrall, Lindsey Sumrall, Brittany Walker, Brett Brosh, Todd Anthony Brosh and Kent Parker.
