Dorothy Jane Koon

Dorothy Jane Koon, 85, died Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi. She retired from Ingall’s Shipbuilding after a long period. Dorothy like to watch T.V., work crossword puzzles and like to crab. She was preceded in death by her late husband, William H. Koon; her parents, George and Sarah Mansfield; and by her brothers and sisters. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sarah Jayne Cunningham of Vancleave, MS; her sons, William Joseph Koon of Gautier, MS, Herman Earl Koon of Ocean Springs, MS, Henry Perry Koon of Austin, TX, Richard Albert Koon of Ocean Springs, MS, and Robert Hasting Koon of Long Beach, MS; sixteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
