Dorothy Fayard Thibodeaux

Dorothy Fayard Thibodeaux, 96, of Biloxi, entered the gates of Heaven on February 24, 2018. She was born on September 27, 1921 in Biloxi, and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. Affectionately known as Maw Maw Thib, she was a devoted wife for 57 years and everyone knew that her sisters were her best friends. Her children and grand-children were the pride and joy of her life. Anyone that truly knew her, knew that she was an avid Braves and Saints fan, no matter what. She lived a full life of love and instilled traditions in her family that will never be forgotten. Whether celebrating birthdays, holidays, or family gatherings, our time spent with her will be cherished forever. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thibodeaux, Sr.; her parents, Leon and Irene Lamey Fayard; three daughters, Deborah Fayard, Connie Bennett, and Denise Thibodeaux; three sisters, Mildred Klein, Beatrice Quave, and Audrey Burdine; and her grand-daughter, LeAnn Fayard. Survivors include her two sons, Roy (Becky) Thibodeaux, Jr. and Leon Thibodeaux; three daughters, Diana (Bobby) Winland, Pamela (Jimmy) Hollis, and Sandra (Rocky) Caillavet; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family would like to express their profound thanks to Dr. Marion Wainwright; the staff of SAAD’s Healthcare (especially Gloria Kostmeyer and Mamie Salter); and caregivers Tracy Bush, Bianca Bush, and Georgette Durand for the excellent medical care, friendship, and special attention provided to keep her here on earth and for giving her respect and dignity till the end. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral where friends may visit from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery next to her husband, Roy. They will finally be together after being apart for 15 years. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
