Edith Mae McGill

Mrs. Edith Mae McGill Doudna, age 84, of Gulfport, MS, died Friday, July 19, 2013, in Gulfport. Mrs. Doudna was born in Jasper, AL and was raised in Troy, AL. She had lived on the coast since 1965 and was a Baptist. She was a quintessential mom not only to her children but to any child she met. Mrs. Doudna was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert F. "Bob" Doudna, a grandchild, Amber Nicole and seven siblings. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon T. Doudna, two sons, Frank Jerome Doudna and Robert Van Doudna, her loving companion, Amos C. "J.R." Wine, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 6pm until 8pm, at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, July 24, 2013, there will be a 10 am chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
