Mrs. Edna Pearl Lowery Hungerford, 87, of Biloxi, MS died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hungerford was born in Columbia, MS to John and Minnie Lowery and had been a long time resident of Biloxi. She was a very talented seamstress and always loved sewing for her children and grandchildren. Some of her many talents were cooking, gardening, and taking exceptional care of her family. She was an original member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed making crafts for the church benefits. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, always unselfishly giving of her time and love. She will be so deeply missed.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Floyd Hungerford; two grandsons, Joshua Newman and Jerrod Thompson; two sisters, Jewel Harris and Ruby Parker; six brothers, Oscar, Keith, J.L., Ray, Harry, and Donnie Lowery; and her son-in-law, Richard Giraud.
Survivors include: a son, Billy Dodson, and his wife, Novaline; daughters, Elizabeth Giraud, and her fiancé, Frankie Duggan, Janice Saucier, and Sandra Thompson and her husband, Neal, all of Biloxi; grandchildren, Tracy Parker, Billy Jo Dodson, Bronwyn Dodson, Brett Dodson, Rachel Nichols, Robin Viglianco, Courtney Lowell, Joey Newman, Lindsey Newman, Ashton Fore and Brittany Thompson; step grandsons, Glen and Bryan Kelly; and twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
