Edna “Nana” Leva, age 89, of Long Beach, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in Gulfport.
She was born in Altha, Fla. and had been a resident of Long Beach for over 20 years.
She was Methodist. Mrs. Leva was a writer of poems and her poem entitled “Camille” was published in the Daily Herald after Hurricane Camille.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Leva (Lt. Col. USAF Retired); a son, Frederick Leva; and a daughter, Susan Steelman.
Mrs. Leva is survived by two sons, Nicholas Paul Leva of North Carolina and David C. Leva of Long Beach; a brother, Jim Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla; eight grandchildren,
Robyn Delk, Brandi Strahan, Jackie Sellier, Julie Ladner, Gina Koepp, Autumn Leva, Shane Leva, and Jeffrey Leva; five great- grandchildren, Nicholas LeJeune, Bradley LeJeune, Aiden Koepp, Reece Koepp, Caleb Koepp; and two great great-grandchildren, Rusty LeJeune and Taylor Delk.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
