Elaine Margaret Martinolich went home to our Savior Sunday, May 12, 2013. She was 89, the daughter of Anthony and Klara Martinolich.
Elaine retired in 1973 from Hq. Air Training Command, Civilian Personnel Directorate, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas where she served as a Personnel Officer. She formerly worked in Civilian Personnel at Keesler Air Force Base and at Hq, Technical Training Air Force. She enjoyed her years in San Antonio where she was active in church and civic affairs.
Upon her return to her home in Gulfport, she enjoyed playing golf, bridge, traveling, serving on Center Stage Board of directors, Harrison county Red Cross board, Gulf coast Symphony Board, working with the Heart Association fund raiser “Sounds of the Holidays”, serving as secretary to Gulfport Mayor, A.W. Lang, Jr., and other church and civic activities.
Elaine is survived by her nephew, Michael Greenwald of Baton Rouge, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Klara Martinolich; brother, Frank Martinolich; sisters, Irma and Genevieve Martinolich and Juanita Greenwald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church on Cowan Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery on Pass Road, Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Elementary School, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS 39506, Center Stage, 240 Eisenhower Drive, Biloxi, MS 39531, or the charity of your choice.
