Eliza “Elizabeth” M. Wood Entrekin, age 93, of Biloxi died Sunday, February 22, 2015.
Eliza was born in Robertsdale, AL in 1921 to Samuel and Ella Wood. She moved to Biloxi, MS where she married the love of her life Robert Entrekin in 1942.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ella Wood; husband, Robert Carroll Entrekin; son, Quinth Entrekin; daughter, Betty Entrekin; grandson, Joey Entrekin; and son-in-law, Claude Parks.
She leaves behind two daughters, Hazel (Albert) Husley of Woolmarket and Dallas Brossett of Biloxi; three sons, Jody (Donna) Entrekin, Jamie Entrekin both of Biloxi and Robert (Sharon) Entrekin of Wichita Falls, TX; 26 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; and 40 great great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved dog and companion, “Little Bit’” as well as her beloved church family.
Eliza worked several years at the Broadwater Hotel in Biloxi. She was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church in Gulfport. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. She will be remembered as the greatest grandma in the world. The large family she leaves behind will continue to celebrate her life, with whom she instilled them with her strong family values.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 2pm all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
