Elizabeth "Betty" Chighizola Carson

Elizabeth “Betty” Chighizola Carson, age 79, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017. She was a resident of the MS Gulf Coast for the past 49 years. She taught special needs children at D’Iberville Elementary School. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ursula and Felix Chighizola of New Orleans, LA. Her survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Dale Carson; daughter, Carol Ann Carson (Mark) Light; two granddaughters, Gianna Rose Light and Cassidy Belle Light; sister, Judith (Ronnie) Crane; brother, O’Neal John (Janet) Chighizola; three nieces; 1 nephews; 7 great-nieces and great-nephews; and all of her friends that she loved so well. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sister Cynthia and to all the sisters that were praying for her, for whom she had a special place in her heart. A very special thank you to the nurses in the ICU Unit on the 4th floor at Merit Health for taking such good care of her; and to Dr. Pavlov and Dr. Magiros for their care and compassion. Service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
