Elizabeth “Betty” Berg Janssen, 86, of Biloxi, MS passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Biloxi.
Mrs. Janssen was born in Effingham County, IL. She was a resident of Buckley, IL, Biloxi, MS and Largo, FL. Most recently she lived at the Santa Marie Del Mar Apartments where she loved to play Bingo and Bunko with all of her friends. She was an avid sport’s fan and waited her whole life to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. Mrs. Janssen was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family. She was of the Lutheran faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Janssen; her parents, Rudolph and Minnie Berg; and her sister, Janet Enlow.
Mrs. Janssen’s survivors include her daughters, Linda Janssen of Merced, CA and Kathy (Armond) Broussard of Biloxi; her sons, Richard (Kim) Janssen of Largo, FL and David Cohen; her sisters, Dorothy (Marvin) Young and Esther (Jess) Ruff; her brother, Edward (Ann) Berg; her brothers-in-law, Gerald Enlow and Bill (Betty) Janssen; her grandchildren, Shaun (Sid), Shannon (Mike), Dane, Ryne, Colton and Ava; and her great-grandchildren, Ashton, Abigail and Bleu.
Mrs. Janssen will be sent to Baier Family Funeral Home in Buckley, IL for services and burial.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
