Elsie Zettel Webber, 90, died on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Senior Care Center in Brunswick, Georgia.
Born in 1922, she moved with her family to Ocean Springs from New Jersey at the age of six. She graduated from Ocean Springs High School and worked at Keesler Air Force Base during World War II. She married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Webber, in 1945. She had been a lifelong resident of Ocean springs and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church before her move to Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Arthur Webber; her sisters, Frances Beaugez, Laura Warbach and Ernestine Beaugez; and her brother, Earnest Zettel.
Her survivors include her daughter, Susan W. Shackelford and her husband Bob of St. Simons Island, Georgia; her granddaughter, Stacey Kalish and her husband Marc, of Atlanta; her grandson, Robert Shackelford of Brandon, Mississippi; her great-grandson, Landon Kalish of Atlanta; her brother, Edward Zettel of Latimer; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until mass time. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs.
