Elsy S. Morris

Mrs. Elsy S. Morris, 91, of Biloxi, MS, died Tuesday, April 11, 2012 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Morris was born in Wallace, Louisiana and lived her whole married life in Biloxi. She was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral. Mrs. Morris was a Registered Nurse. She received her nurses training at Hotel Dieu in New Orleans, LA. She was a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served her country in Burma and India during World War II. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Lee C. Morris, Jr. She is survived by three daughters, Lanell Carroll and her husband Drew, of Birmingham, AL, Marjorie Parker and her husband Carl, of Saucier, Paula Karonika and her husband Marion “Tooter”, of Houston, TX; three sons, Lee Morris, III of Virginia Beach, VA, Neil Morris and his wife Debbie of Saucier, and Donald Morris and his wife, Cheryl of Gastonia, PA; thirteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morris’ family wishes to thank the staff of Ocean Springs Nursing Center for the loving care they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Masses be said for Mrs. Morris. Visitation will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a prayer service. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
