Emilia Loya Cornejo Shearer

Emilia Loya Cornejo Shearer, 91, of Biloxi died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Gulfport. She was born in the Philippines and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for about 40 years. She attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was a member of Christian Cultural Center Fellowship. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Gulfport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Doris Shearer, Jr. Mrs. Shearer is survived by two daughters, Preswinda Freeman (Michael) and Mary Ann Downey (Scott); a son, Alejandro Llamas (Maria Teresa); two sisters, Zenaida Lara and Leticia Tanquangco; a brother, Ricardo Cornejo; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 12:15 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi.
