Mrs. Emily Rita Wilson Ogletree, of Ocean Springs, Miss., passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79. A native of Pascagoula, Miss., Emily was preceded in death by her husband Mst. Sgt. William Ogletree, Jr.; parents, Henry and Emily Gremillion Wilson; brothers, Leon Wilson, Henry James Wilson, Jr., and Wilbur Wilson; and sisters, Ann Cooney and Eloise Cooney. She is survived by her sister, Sr. Veronica Martin; her sister-in-law, Patricia Ward; her five children, Jill McDonnell (Mike), Beverly Henderson (Leigh), Kathleen Walley (Derrick), Susan Pancoast (Mims Venus), and William Ogletree, III; and by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her niece Patricia Gideon, and numerous additional nieces and nephews.
Emily was a devout Catholic who attended daily Mass and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic parish in Ocean Springs and served there as a vocalist for many years. Her love of Jesus Christ was an inspiration and example to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, Miss. Interment at Biloxi National Cemetery will follow. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi, Miss. is handling arrangements.
