Emmet Charles Catchot age 94 passed into glory on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Emmet was employed with Entex/Center Point Energy for 30 years. He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the United States Army and Merchant Marines. Emmet was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs and member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Catchot and Alma Josephine Catchot; brother Eugene J. Catchot; sister Margaret Woodall and grandson, Robert Sky Jenkins.
He is survived by the love of his life of 67 years, Dorothy Mae Fountain Catchot of Ocean Springs; daughters, Jackie (George Robert) Taylor of Vancleave, MS; Linda (Bob) Cowell of Bartlett, TN; and Jo-Ann Catchot of Vancleave, MS; grandchildren, Robert Scott (Jennifer) Taylor of Olive Branch, MS; Derrick (Bobbi Jo) Cowell of Lakeland, TN; Jeffrey Taylor of Vancleave, MS; Brandon (Donna Rae) Cowell of Ramstein, Germany; Austin (Sara) Cowell of Thompson's Station, TN; Amy Lea (Kris) Stewart of Vancleave, MS; great grandsons; Joseph, Hunter, Skyler Cowell and Carter Fazzio; step great grandchildren, Hunter Stewart, Aaron Stewart, Michael Henry, Tasheena Kemp and Tito (Dedra) Handboy; step great-great grandchildren, Peyton Henry, Cambrie Henry, SummerRose Handboy and SunnyRay Handboy.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 502 Jackson Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS on Friday, October 13th. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
